Our goal is to expand the number of accordionists in Texas through direct instruction on the accordion. The MACr will be traveling in Texas to local schools, music schools, festivals, conferences, and educational venues presenting
on-site, hands-on accordion lessons and demonstrations. We plan to provide beginning lessons and tailor the instruction to the needs of students of all ages.
Donations for this project are currently needed.
We are in the process of obtaining twelve new piano accordions in a combination of 12-bass and 48-bass to begin our project. There are additional needs, such as adjustable straps, which allows for size variation from child to adult. The 12- bass accordions require a hard case for transportation and protection. Also needed are twelve portable lightweight music stands.
There are different ways that you can help us achieve our goal.
Your tax-deductible Donation options:
See below to donate specifically to the MACr project via PayPal.
Contact us if you would like to send a check.
For the donation of one accordion, IAMP will provide a small engraved plaque for placement on the accordion. The donor may choose to donate in honor of their accordion teacher, in memory of a loved one, the name of the donor, or an accordion club. Please contact us if several donors would like to combine their donations to honor one individual or club.
GO TO OUR MACr HONOREES PAGE to see the accordion honorees and accordions that will be travelling to presentations thanks to donors like you!
In addition, IAMP is creating a commemorative booklet containing photos of the accordions donated plus a short paragraph about honorees with their photo, if available. The MACr Project Booklet will travel to all presentations and provide a written history of the honored accordion teachers, clubs, and others who dedicated their lives to this instrument. Their accordion legacies will live on to the next generation of accordionists through experiences with The Mobile Accordion ClassRoom.
